Ingredients
Topping:
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 1 T cinnamon
- 1 T orange zest
- 1/4 cup coconut oil
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
Filling:
- 3 lbs apples – about 7 or 8 apples depending on the size of the apple
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- Orange juice from 1 orange
- 1 T cinnamon
- 2 t vanilla extract
Baking directions
350 degrees for 45 – 50 minutes
Special tools
- 9 x 13 non-stick pan for baking
- Cutting board and knife or peeler/corer/slicer for apples
- Tinfoil for baking
Steps
- In a medium/small bowl, mix together the almond flour, nuts, cinnamon, orange zest, maple syrup, and coconut oil.
- Peel, core, and slice the apples.
- Mix together the maple syrup, orange juice, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
- Spread apples in baking pan.
- Pour orange juice mixture over apples.
- Spread topping over apples.
- Cover pan with tin foil.
Bake for 25 – 30 minutes at 350 degrees
